Management Help

System

This section allows you to manage the router's configuration settings, reboot, back up, load previous saved settings and restore the router to the factory default settings. Restoring the unit to the factory default settings will erase all settings, including any rules that you've created.
Reboot
Restarts the router for the settings to take effect.
Backup Settings
Save your configurations in a file on your computer so that it may be accessed again later if your current settings are changed. Be sure to save the configuration before performing a firmware update.
Update Settings
Use this option to restore previously saved router configuration settings.
Restore Default Settings
This option restores all configuration settings back to the settings that were in effect at the time the router was shipped from the factory. All settings will be lost. If you want to save your router configuration settings, use the Backup Settings option above.

Firmware Update

The Firmware Update section can be used to update to the latest firmware code to improve functionality and performance.

To update the firmware, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Browse button to locate the update file on your computer.
  2. Once you have found the file to be used, click the Update Firmware button below to start the firmware update process. This can take a minute or more.
  3. Wait for the router to reboot. This can take another minute ormore.
Note: Some firmware updates reset the configuration options to the factory defaults. Before performing an update, be sure to save the current configuration from the Maintenance -> System screen.

Access Controls

Account Password

The Account Password is used to set a password for access to the Web-based management. By default there is no password configured. It is highly recommended that you create a password to keep your new router secure.

Access to your DSL Router is controlled through three user accounts: admin, support, and user.

Admin Password
Enter a password for the user "admin", who will have full access to the Web-based management interface.
Support Password
Allows an ISP technician to access your DSL Router for maintenance and to run diagnostics.
User Password
Allows to view configuration settings and statistics, as well as update the router's firmware.
Services
Allows access to the router via FTP, HTTP, ICMP, SNMP, SSH, TELNET, and TFTP.
LAN
Accesses the DSL router from the local network (LAN) side.
WAN
Accesses the DSL router from the ISP side.
IP Address
When enabled allows the filtering of IP address that can access the router. This works in conjunction with Services.

Diagnostics

Diagnostics allows you to run diagnostic tests to check your DSL connection. The results will show test results of three connections.

  • Connection to your local network
  • Connection to your DSL service provider
  • Connection to your Internet service provider

System Log

This section when enabled allows the system to begin logging events based on the selected log level.

Log Level

Display Level

If the selected mode is "Remote" or "Both", events will be sent to the specified IP address and UDP port of a remote system log server. If the selected mode is "Local" or "Both", events will be recorded in the local memory. Select the desired values and click on Apply to configure the system log options.
